The fun stuff that got us through the week
Hey friends! We had a quiet week here at Chez Sarina. But here are the songs and the books and the shows that got us to the weekend.
Got something for us to try next week? Shout it out in the comments!
First, Elle Kennedy made me read this bonkers speculative thriller and I cannot put it down. I’m only halfway through, but it is unlike anything else I’ve ever read. I guess it has Blake Crouch vibes, if you put a gun to my head. (But please don’t.) I’m reading it on Hoopla, but I just noticed it’s in KU as well.
The One by John Marrs
Second, the husband and I enjoyed Hijack on Apple TV. Great cast. Very exciting! I want a word with the showrunner about a hole in the Wall Street subplot. But nobody is perfect. Would watch again!
Third, let’s not forget the snacks. Natasha says that Lindt salted caramel chocolate bars were instrumental to her week, and it’s hard to argue against that. It’s apple season here in New England so I made a giant pot of applesauce and a shocking amount of it has already disappeared.
And coffee. Always coffee. But I’m one of those freaks that thinks pumpkin spice in coffee is an abomination, so I’ve got no seasonal treats for you on this front.
Moving on. Fourth, this song by French DJ Petit Biscuit is playing in heavy rotation in my head. It’s good writing music. 🤷♀️
Have fun out there!
Love from Team Sarina
