Off Course by Julie Cook

Genre: romance

Archetypes: tough, regimented female ski racer vs. laid-back California rock climber

Tropes: forced proximity, workplace romance (he’s training her for a specific skill) opposites attract

I enjoy reading about ski racers (adrenaline junkies are fun people!) so this book was right up my alley. The settings in Truckee CA and Vermont and the Dolomites were also a good time!

But what I really loved about this book was the character of Kit Schuster. You don’t meet a lot of heroines like her—at the top of her game, and stronger than most men. But with the same messy emotions we all enjoy! Asher was another fun character with a big, loud family. Together, they’re a lot of fun.
